Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Most of our subscribed electronic and online resources (e-journals, e-books , videos and newspapers) can only be accessed while within the USIU-Africa network.

For off-campus (remote or away from USIU-Africa) access to these resources, faculty, students and staff need to configure their electronic devices  using the Virtual Private Network (VPN) applications. Using the links below, download and install the application in your device. Then use the step by step 'Guide'  or  'Connecting Manual' to log in.

Below are links to the application and guides to help you log in.
1. Devices using Windows Application:

2. Devices using macOS

3. VPN on Android Phones

Once the VPN is installed, it is time to log in or connect. This guide will show you the steps involved and what information to input. Please find the manual at the bottom of this page.
Be sure you are connecting to vpn.usiu.ac.ke. Your  Username and Password are the same ones you use for  Blackboard

5. E-Library

After connecting to the VPN, on another tab, go to the library to browse and access our full range of electronic resources -  e-books and e-journals. https://library.usiu.ac.ke/client/en_GB/default
