Chicago Style -s ometimes called Turabian, due to its close relationship with the work of Kate Turabian, who developed her own system in the 1970s. It is used in the scientific community and social sciences where scientific approaches have been utilized.

Harvard Style - Named after John Harvard who donated his book collection to Cambridge college in 1637. This style is commonly used in social sciences as well as in engineering

Modern Languages Association (MLA) Style - designed to suit disciplines in the humanities
